Repurposing Everyday Glass Objects

There are a number of creative ways to repurpose everyday glass objects that you may have lying around the house.  Take for instance a large glass serving bowl.  You can use it to store and display fruit, or you can use it to store your television, cable box and all other (useless) remotes like we do in the family room.  I just added a book to fill up the space in the bowl in order to keep the remotes from sliding all around.  Excuse the fingerprints.  This bowl gets used on a daily basis here :)

How about a glass fish bowl?  Not only are they good for housing goldfish they are good for housing a candle as well.  I added a few leaves that I took off the stems of faux flowers to dress it up a bit. 

I just happened to have two of these bowls just lying around.  I decided to add the bowls as space fillers to go in between my dining room centerpiece which already consisted of a glass vase of hydrangeas with black river rocks and two hurricanes with candle pillars inside.  Who doesn't love having more candles at a dining table?

 Here is a glass bowl from ZGallerie that I received as a present many years ago.  This glass bowl at one point in time used to hold potpourri linen flowers. How predictable.  Well, now it holds extra rolls of toilet paper in our master bathroom.  Our toilet itself has its' own separate room away from everything else.  So this was the perfect storage alternative since there was no other storage solution for us.  It may be a bit unconventional for some people.  But storing tp can still look just as pretty being displayed in a glass bowl as it can in a basket.  At least you can reach over and grab yourself a new roll of tp when you run out.  No yelling involved.  Just saying :)

And how about a pretty glass butter dish?  Not only can it hold butter, but it can hold pretty things on your bathroom counter like perfumes and colognes.  It gives it a little vintage look. 

I even have a little votive candle holder in there.  But instead of putting a votive candle in it I put my lipsticks and sample perfume vials that my kids like to collect from the lovely perfume ladies that hand them out in the mall whenever we go.

 

Or you can even use the glass butter dish to hold jewelry like necklaces and bracelets.  This is convenient to have on your night stand before going to sleep.  It can make such a pretty display.
